Starting in 1250 the Carthusian Order rebuilt the chapel of the old convent of the nuns of Bondilhon, located about hundred meters from the monastery. They placed it under the protection of Saint John the Baptist who like themselves had retired into the desert. This Romanesque style chapel boasts interior decoration of the Gothic style.
The existing steeple is more recent. It was added by the Carthusian monks in the 1870s.
